Upload a PDF and get a table of every link in it: where it sits, what it points to, and whether it looks healthy. Then remove the ones you do not want and download a cleaned copy. Your original file is never changed.
After deleting or reordering pages, a table of contents or cross-reference can end up pointing at a page that is no longer there. The Link Manager marks those links as broken so you can remove them, or replace them with fresh ones from the Jump Links tool.
Strip every link, only the broken ones, or only the internal or external ones, or tick individual links. The text stays on the page; only the clickable area goes. Export CSV gives you the full list for a spreadsheet.
What the checker does and does not do: it verifies that internal links point to a real page, that web addresses are well formed, and flags empty email links and risky link types. External sites are never visited, so it cannot tell you whether an outside site is still online. Removing links from a digitally signed PDF invalidates its signature.
Everything you need to know about managing links in a PDF
Upload the PDF and the Link Manager lists every link in it. Tick the ones you want gone and choose Remove selected, or remove all links, all broken links, all internal links, or all external links in one step. Then download the cleaned copy. The text that was linked stays on the page; only the clickable link is removed.
No. External sites are never visited. The checker confirms that internal links point to a page that exists in the document and that web addresses are well formed (a scheme and host, no stray spaces). The only email problem it flags is an empty mailto link; it does not check whether an address is valid or real. Because nothing outside the file is opened, it cannot tell you whether a website is still online. Treat a link marked OK as well-formed, not as confirmed live.
Upload the PDF, then use Export CSV. The file lists each link's page number, type (internal, external, email, file or other), target, the text it is attached to, its status, and any issues found. It is built in your browser from the scan results and opens in Excel or Google Sheets.
A link is marked broken when it is an internal link to a page that does not exist (for example after pages were deleted), a link with an empty or malformed URL (no scheme or host, or containing whitespace), an empty mailto link, or a remote-file link without a filename. Links that may work but deserve a look are marked as warnings: javascript:, data:, vbscript: links, file: links that point to an absolute path on someone's computer, plain http links, link boxes with zero area or placed off the page, Launch actions, and links with no action at all.
No. Removal produces a new, cleaned PDF for you to download, and your original file is untouched until you choose to download and use the cleaned copy. Each removal starts from your original file, so to remove several groups of links, select them all and remove them together. If the PDF is digitally signed, removing links changes the file and invalidates the signature, so remove links before signing.
The Link Manager lists and removes links. To replace one, remove it here and then add a new link with the Jump Links tool, which lets you draw a box on the page and choose the destination page or web address.
